Waak-End Visitors Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McClarnon and daughter Mary of Portland were week-end visitors of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Isaacs of the South Pacific highway. Visits Hara Mrs. Jessie Stone of Pasadena, Cal., arrived here today by train to visit her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Bowen of Beagle. Mrs. Stone plans to spend a month in southern Oregon. Warnar Here Carl Werner of Portland, Oregon dealer service representative of the Wine In stitute of California, made sev eral calls here yesterday per taining to the 1943 Oregon Trail celebration In the publicizing of which he is interested. On Business Trip Frank Jen kins, editor of the News and the Herald in Klamath Falls, left by car this morning for Eugene where he was to trans act business. He conferred last night with Ernest R. Gi.strap, business manager of the Mall Tribune, with whom he is as sociated in the newspaper pub lishing business. Mr. Jenkins s an overnight guest at the Hotel Holland. Plan Passengers S. Buell de parted for Portland by United Mainliner at noon today. Arriv ing on the forenoon plane were Mrs. J. Anderson and J. Meeke, from Portland, and L. Levens ager, from Seattle, Wash. Mrs. T. Spencer left for Los Angeles on the same plane. Arriving on the early morning plane was S. Levine from Los Angeles and leaving was E. Leach, to Port land. Midnight plane arrivals were Joe Marshall and F. Zie barth, from Portland, and depart ing was J. Foster to San Fran cisco. W. Borden arrived from Los Angeles on the flagstop plane last night and leaving for Portland was E. McMindes. H. Hutchinson arrived from Seattle last evening and B. Washington, D. C, conferred yesterday with executives at Medford CCC district head quarters. Minor Accident Charles Reeder of 433 Benson street and Elmer Robertson of Yreka. Cal., drove cars involved in a minor accident at Main street and Riverside avenue yesterday af ternoon, a report on file said to day. Vacation Ends Walter C. De gerness, assistant manager of the Western Thrift store, and his son Kenneth returned home Monday from a week's vacation at "Axnes," the Axland-Deger-ness summer home near Union Creek. To Take Course Mrs. Anna G. Bengtson, Swedish masseuse with offices in the Craterian building, left this morning by train for St. Louis, Mo., where she will take a two months' special course at the Kellsburg Institute of Masseurs. Building Permits Mrs. A. W. Hubbs of 429 North Central ave nue applied at the city building inspector's office yesterday for a permit to enclose the porch of her residence at a stated cost of $175. Clarence B. Evans applied for a permit to remodel his store at 101 North Central avenue at a stated cost of $45. Named Subaltern Grover E. Corbln. a senior leader of com pany 6409. Camp McKinley, was today appointed a subaltern in the CCC, Medford district head quarters announced. Corbin is a graduate of the second district subalterns' school held here in March. To Lake George T. Hopper, engineer of Crater lake national park, today joined other head quarters staff members who have gone to the lake to estab lish their summer offices. He was accompanied by Mrs. Hop per. The Hoppers have resided here during the winter. Moving of staff headquarters from the Medford Federal building to the lake for the summer period will be completed Saturday. Visit Parents William H. Walker, son of Mrs. W. W. Wal ker, 842 East Main street, left this morning for Bakersfield, Cal., and Harvey D. Field, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey J. Field, 24 Crater Lake avenue, plans to leave tonight by plane for Bakersfield where they will take their basic training in flving. They completed their prelimin ary training In the Flying Cadets at Oxnard, Cal., May 28 and ac companied Mr. and Mrs. Field and Mrs. Walker home from San Francisco where their parents spent the week-end.
