(Spl) Three wins and four losses marked the record of the Jack sonville grade school baseball team, as the Pirates ended their season last week with two spar kling games with Phoenix, both defeats for the local boys. Wednesday, Phoenix won 4 to 1 despite two-hit pitching by Bill Campbell. Monday after noon Coach Eldred Colver's classy chucker, Ralph, hung up 16 strike-outs in edging out 3 to 2 win for Phoenix. In this game Campbell whiffed 11. The Jacksonville results for the season other than the Phoe nix scores were: Jacksonville 4, Griffin Creek 7; Jacksonville 12, Ruch 11; Jacksonville 7, Oakgrove 12: Jacksonville 10 Butte Falls 10; and Jacksonville 18, Ruch 3. In the hitting department Campbell paced with an average of .458, followed by Whitely with .300, Eek with .294, Birdell with .202, Smith with .280 and Forbes with .290. Scobey and Lelwyn Breen, din ner, and conducted tour of the camp. During the tour visitors were presented with copies of the camp paper. The guest vis ited the usual Tuesday evening vocational, avocatlonal and aca demic classes conducted under the educational adviser's super vision. At the carpentry shop tha students demonstrated wood working for national defense and the technical service show ed the collapsible seat and tool box for army trucks which they designed and which has won na tional acclaim.
