PAGE THREE Auxiliary American Legion American Legion Auxiliary of Post No. IS resumed meetings .after a summer vacation, with Lillian Flynn, new president elect presiding at a recent ses sion in the armory. A lengthy report was given on the annual convention held at Seaside, September 4 to 7, and President Flynn appointed com mittee chairmen for the ensuing year. Due to increased activities of the unit a vote was taken by members to have two business meetings each month. Second and fourth Wednesdays will be regular meeting nights. Sewing meetings will be arranged and announced at a later date. The legion and auxiliay will have joint installation at Grants Pass Monday, Sept. 23. 8 p. m. Ashland. Grants Pass and Med ford officers being installed. She is a graduate of St. Mary's academy and the bridegroom at tended St. Joseph's college in Mountain View, Cal. A number of delightful soc ial affairs honored the bride prior to her marriage. Former Residents Visit in Med ford Mrs. J. E. Watt and daughter, Miss Helen Watt, and Miss Kath erine Van Dyke of Eagle Rock, Cal., visited friends here on their return from a vacation spent in Banff. Lake Louise and other places of interest in Canada. The trio left southern Cali. fornia a month ago. visited sev eral of the national parks and plan to attend the exposition in San Francisco en route south. Mrs. Watt and Miss Watt for merly lived in Medford and were welcomed here by their many friends. Trio Returns From Vacation Miss Margaret Gilman. Ivan Gilman and Newton Smith re turned last" week from a three weeks' vacation trip to South Dakota where they visited friends and relatives. While there, the vacationers enjoyed the state fair at Huron and visited the only corn palace in the world at Mitchell. On their return trip, the trio stop ped at places of interest in the Black Hills and Yellowstone national park. Mrs. Fi.ro Is Visitor Her. Mrs. Conro Fiero motored to Medford from the Klamath agency, where she is government hostess, to spend the week-end visiting her mother, Mrs. Will Andrews and her sister, Mrs. James Stevens, at their Cargill court apartment. Local Couple Wed Saturday In Church Manse The Presbyterian manse on Ross Court was th scene of the wedding of Miss Lois Lan don Brinson and Sgt. Gale T. Graham Saturday evening at 8:00 o'clock. Uniting the couple in mar riage was Dr. Sherman L. Di vine, pastor of the church. The bride, who wore an en semble of black with a gar denia corsage is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Brinson. Her sister. Mrs. Otto Bastiani, was her attendant and Paul H. Hughes acted as best man for Sgt. Graham. Thirty guests were present at the ceremony. Nobl. Grands Hit. Meeting Past Noble Grands club of Olive Rebekah lodge met Thursday evening at the Girls' Community clubhouse for the first fall business session. Plans were made to have a card party the first of October in the club house. Committee consists of Helen Keesee. LucretiP. Whil- lock, Ella Parks, Nell- Gibson and Dorothy Scripter. Refreshments were served by Ella Gould, Vera Wimer, Ella Parks, Bess Dyer, Nellie Bowles. Next meeting will be the sec ond Thursday in October. Juvenile Club Enjoys Met Degree of Honor Juvenile club mel recently at the K. P. hall with Patricia Fawcett presiding. Five guests were present and the following program enjoyed: Piano selections. Meeker Home Is Scene of Party. Children of the primary de partment of the First Methodist Sunday school enjoyed a lawn party at the home of Eleanor Meeker on East Jackson street Saturday afternoon. Meeker, were Mrs. Arthur Short, superintendent of the department and Mrs. Doris Lantz, teacher Mrs. Maxwell io Attend Meeting Mrs. Alliean Maxwell left Sat urday evening for San Francisco, to attend the general grand chap ter of Order of Eastern Star of the world.
