Visiting Parents and Mrs. Paul Allen of Walla Walla, Wash., former Medford resi dents, are here for a visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. P. IP) The stock market shook off a portion of its gloom today and selected steels, motors, aircrafts and specialties rallied 1 to more than 2 points. Extreme gains were reduced at the close. Transfers were around 400.000 shares for the first time in about two weeks. Brokers attributed the revival partly to the thought the mar ket, which hit a 22-year-old turnover yesterday, may have been "sold out" and was due at least for a temporary upswing despite possible adverse news developments. Hood. 65, a resi dent of Central Point for the pal 13 years, passed away in a local hospital Monday. He was born at Harrison, Boone county, Arkansas, July 28. 1874. Coming west at the age of 13, he resided at Plaza, Wash., for 17 yean and from there moved to Midvale, Idaho, where he resided until coming to Central Point. Besides his wife. Dollio Hood, he leaves thrye children, Mrs. Alma Leman, Elma Haight and W. Allen Hood, all of Central Point. Also the following broth ers and sisters; Eliza Thomason, of Montana; Mrs. W. C. Reeves, Lena McDonald, Mrs. Ira Smith, Martha Williams. Y. T. Hood, J. M. Hood, all of Washington; and Henderson Hood of Aurora, Mo., and J. M. Hood of Tacoma. Funeral services will be held at the Conger chapel at 3 p. m. Wednesday with Frank Childers officiating. Interment will be in the Central Point cemetery.
