The stock market shook off a
portion of its gloom today and
selected steels, motors, aircrafts
and specialties rallied 1 to more
than 2 points.
Extreme gains were reduced
at the close. Transfers were
around 400.000 shares for the
first time in about two weeks.
Brokers attributed the revival
partly to the thought the mar
ket, which hit a 22-year-old
turnover yesterday, may have
been "sold out" and was due at
least for a temporary upswing
despite possible adverse news
developments.
