Lopez, employed on the Trail-Tiller road, and charged in a complaint signed by his wife, with assault and battery, was granted a 60 days' suspended sentence in justice court yester day. Lopez told the court the trou ble started when he told two of his four daughters to wash the supper dishes for their mother, and they refused. He then ap plied discipline with a small rope with a wire attached. The arm of one of the girls was bruised, the court said. Under the questioning of Jus tice Coleman, Mrs. Lopez said her husband was a good provider and worked steadily.
