SOCIETY AND CLUB NEWS OF THE WEEK Br CLAKA MAST DAVIS Catholic Church Scene of Wedding Tuetday Morning One of the loveliest of June weddinfi was solemnized Tues day morning at 9 o'clock in the Sacred Heart Catholic church when Miss Jenes Jensen, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Jens Jen sen became the bride of Nor man Moty, son of Mr. and Mrs. K. N. Moty of Klamath Falls in a nuptial mass performed by tha Rev. Father Francis w, Black. Tha beautiful and stately bride, given In marriage by her father, wore a white satin wed ding gown of princess style with train and trimmed with seed pearls. Falling from a Juliet cap of seed pearls was a finger' tip veil of fine net. Her only jewelry was a small gold cross White sweetpeas, stechanotls and lilies of the valley com prised her shower bouquet. The bride's sister, Mirs Mar garet Jenren of Salinas, Cat., was maid of honor. She wore an exquisite gown of blue chif fon with a Juliet cap made of fresh pansies and white lark spur. She carried an old-fash ioned nosegay of rosebuds, lark spur and sweetpeas in pastel shades. Bridesmaids were the Missus Ceraldine Wilkinson and Jean ette McKee. Their Identical gowns were made of pink chif fon and their Juliet caps were of pink larkspur and pansies. They also carried old-fashioned nosegays. Doranne Wood of Salinas, niece of the bride, acted as flower-girl. She was pretty in a gown of yellow taffeta and tule with wreath of pastel flowers in her hair. James Cronin of Klamath Falls was best man and ushers were John Jensen and George Moty, brothers of the bride and bridegroom. Mrs. Jensen .the bride's moth er, wore a green and white chiffon frock and a gardenia corsage, Mrs, Moty was dress ed In navy blue and white, with gardenia corsage. A breakfast was given In the small dining room of the-Hotel Medford for about 40 guests, following the ceremony. A wedding cake and white flow ers decorated the table. Among the out-of-town guests attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Woods and two children of Salinas. CaL Mrs. Woods is a sister of the bride. Other guests In cluded the aunt of the bride, Mrs. Mathew B. Diedrick of St. Cloud. Minn., Miss Mar garet Jensen, sister of the bride, of Salinas, Cal., cousins of the bride; the Misses Hllde gard and Loretta Fleldey of Oakland, Cal., and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Espey of Prlne ville. Mm. Espey Is another sister of the bride. Following a wedding trip, the newly wedded couple plan to make their home at the Marlon apartments In Klamath Falls, where Mr. Moty Is asso ciated with his father In busi ness. The bride received' her early schooling at St. Mary's acad emy In this city. Later she attended Marylhurst college In Oswego. mr. moiy. wno resioea in Medford until moving to Klam ath Falls about five years ago, attended tha University of Fort land. Miss Simkins Visits Here Miss Leneve Simkins, who Is returning from New York City to her home at Cottage Grove, stopped for a short visit with Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Woodford last week. Recent Bride Honored At Shower Party Mrs. Arthur Davis entertained with a linen shower Thursday evening at her home on South Peach street honoring a recent bride, Mrs. Sammy Sleete. the former Miss Kathleen Carpent er. The couple were married on June 10 In Reno, Nev. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Carpenter of Phoenix. Mr. Sleete is the son of Mrs. W. D. Sleete of Medford and is as sociated with Peirce Auto Freight lines. They are making their home In this city. Guests enjoying the pleasant affair were Mrs. George Car penter, Mrs. Sleete, Mrs. Bob Paris, Mrs. Gene Curry, Mrs. Cliff Peart, Mrs. Ralph Lanti. Mrs. Paul Corwln, Mrs. Ed Smith. Dav idson and infant son Durno, ac companied by Mr. Davidson's mother, Mrs. Charles F. Shontt of Portland, left yesterday for San Francisco, Cal., to vacation until next Monday. The former Med fordite and the Zonta delegate promptly planned a rendezvous for tht following day. Pro-America to Convene Monday George M. Roberts. Medford attorney, will be the Ruest speaker at the luncheon meet ing Monday noon of Pro-America, National Republican Wo men's organization. Mr. Roberts will talk on the Republican convention held this week in Philadelphia. MODERATELY PRICED Evelyn Leonard Weds Local Man In Church Service Picturesque St. Mark's Episco pal church was the scene of a beautiful wedding Friday eve ning at 8 o'clock when the Rev, Father Herald G. Gardner uni ted in marriage Miss Evelyn Mae Leonard and Franklin Van Pelt. The lovely blond bride wore a gown of heavy French faille, fashioned with shirred bodice, full sored skirt. Preceding the entrance of the bride, who walked down the aisle with her father, C. C. Leon ard, came Mrs. Robert Sher wood, the bride's only attend ant. She wore a Colonial gown of light blue printed organdie and a leghorn picture hat I trimmed with long velvet streamers. Her Colonial nosegay was composed of pink rose buds and blue delphinium. Robert Sherwood was the best man and ushers were Messrs. j Donald C. Leonard, brother of the bride and Murray S. Gard iner. Mrs. Gardiner sang "At Dawn ing" accompanied by Mrs. Eva H. Marsh at the organ who also played the wedding music. Vows were exchanged at an altar dec orated in all white snapdragons, gladiolia and tapers. Mrs. Leonard chose a pink lace dress, a toque of pink flow ers and a gardenia and pink ba vardia corsage for her dauch- Itcrs wedding. After the ceremony, a recep tion for a few guests was held at the Leonard home on South nouy street. Store Mrs. Paul Selby Feted At Several Bridge Parties Mrs. Paul Selby, visitor at the home of her mother, Mrs. Margaret Fabrick on Crater Lake avenue, was feted at sev eral delightful parties last week. On Friday afternoon Mrs. Glenn Fabrick and Mrs. Mar garet Fabrick entertained with a dessert luncheon and seven tables of bridge for Mrs. Selby. Prizes were won by Mrs. Wil liam Bowerman, Mrs. Rupert Henry and a guest prize was presented to the honoree. The two hostesses also gave a party the same evening. Six tables of bridge participated and prizes were won by Mrs. Vera S trader, Mrs. Frank Perl, Mrs. Jack Walker and Mrs. John White. Also entertaining during the week for Mrs. Selby was Mrs. William P, Davidson at her home on Ashland avenue.
