OP) A showdown In the United States supreme court appared probable today over the natur aliiation of William Schneider man, state secretary of the Communist party, whose citi zenship was cancelled yester day by a ruling of Federal Judge Michael J. Roche. The Judue held that Schneid erman had obtained citizenship Illegally because he failed to reveal that during a five-year probationary period he belong ed to organizations advocating violent overthrow of the gov ernment. Attorney George Andersen, who defended the 34-year-old communist, said he would ap peal the decision and probably take the case before the su preme court. HOT SPELL HIKES RRIGATION USE During the last three warm days, there has been an increase in the use of irrigation water in both Medford and Talent dis-l tricts. the watermaster's office! reported today. It is reported the streams in the Butte Falls district are dropping, but in the south part of the county, they are holding their own. There has been some use of irrigation storage water, of which there is a sufficiency to carry through the season, but there is none to waste, and care in its use is urged. The Talent irrigation district, as far as water is concerned, is in better shape than the other districts. According to the watermas ter's office, the head ot the Applegate was the only area m the county that had anything near a normal snowiaii tast winter and now has an ample supply of water.
