Christmas decorations were ef fectively used about. Refreshments were served by the following hostesses: Mrs. Frank Freeburger, Mrs. Frank Runtz, Mrs. J. A. McDougall, Mrs. Eston Humphrey. Each member donated a new doll which will be given to under-privileged children at Christmas. The Lady Lions have purchased 200 new dolls and the same .number of new toys for boys which will be distributed at Christmas to these children along with the toys the firemen are now repairing. Study Club Enjoys Recent Session The Wednesday Study club met at the Girls Community club for its regular meeting Wednesday,- with the president, Mrs. A. J. Hanby presiding. Mrs. M. M. Morris gave a comprehensive talk on South America, using a wall map as a geographic review. The climatic conditions in the tropics and south were contrasted. Portu- 6 p. m. Brazil declared herself an inde pendent country in 1822. Fol lowing that, all other countries obtained their independence ex cept British, Dutch and French Guiana. Argentina, with its tern perate climate and progressive people, is the most productive. The Pan-American conference between North and South Amer ica was formed in 1889. Her talk was illustrated with inter esting pictures. Mrs. Ray Lenox presented the travel book "Westward from Rio" by Bowman and Dickinson in an interesting review. The two authors sailed from New York, stopping first at Bahia, the oldest city in Brazil, then on to Rio de Janeiro. They visited the countries of Brazil, Argen tina, Bolivia and Peru and de scribed life in the shepherd country, the cattle ranches and large coffee plantations. Many old cities and ruins of the an cient Inca civilization were also visited. The Iquassu waterfalls between Brazil and Argentina were compared in grandeur to our Niagara. The program closed with a general discussion of the topics. Lodge- CI ub-Chu rch Announcements Baptist Women Will Convene .
