The Rogue River Chevrolet company will hold "open hijuse" in its new location at Ninth and Bartlett streets, Friday night and all day Saturday, and the public is cordially invited to in spect the beautiful show rooms, modern and complete mechanic al department and all models and types of the 1940 Chevrolet. C. M. Hurd, manager, stated that the show rooms would be filled with new cars. On October 14, at the new-car opening, the company was able to have only two machines on display, he ex plained. Music Program A fine musical program will be given at 8 p.m. Friday, fea turing Homer McDonald and his orchestra and accordion, vocal numbers by Harvey Fields, Jr.1, and Connie Moore and a violin solo by Mrs. Homer McDonald, accompanied by Mr. McDonald. The public is especially urged to attend the "open house" at 8 o'clock Friday night. ' The company completed mov ing from its old .location at Main street and Riverside ave nue on December 1, and Mr. Hurd said everything was in readiness for the grand opening. The present location of the company, in a 100 by 100-foot stucco and concrete building, was formerly occupied by Wal ter W. Abbey, Inc. Modern Shop The shop, which will embrace 10,000 square feet of space, is modern in every respect, with two hydraulic hoists and the finest equipment possible to ob tain. It is especially well-lighted. Mr. Hurd said that every type of mechanical work would be available for automobile own ers. A new and modern open parts display is being installed in the show room, the manager said. He added that, with the larger quarters and more extensive re pair facilities, he expected busi ness ifi increase at least 50 per cent. ' v;7 H. C. Mauvais, representative of the Chevrolet company for the Portland district, remarked before he left today that the Rogue River . Chevrolet show room was one of the most beau tiful in the state. JP) Lucky Boy, grand champion steer of the International Livestock ex position, today sold at auction for $1.33 a pound. The price paid for the hand some Hereford steer, raised in Texas, was only a dime ibove the depression low of $1.20 which was paid in 1932. The 1 6-months-old steer weighed 1,220 pounds. It was owned by Mayfield Kothmann, 18, a 4-H club boy from Mason coun ty, Texas. Lucky Boy's sale price w,s $2 a pound below that paid for Irene Brown's handsome Abei-deen-Angus steer last year, which sold for- $3.35 a pound. The all-time high price for grand championship steer auc tions was reached in 1929 when Lucky Strike, an Iowa product, sold for 58.25 a pound. The Texas steer was the prod uct of a pure-blooded sire and an ordinary range cow. that he thought the entire west was "still for Roosevelt." The president and he did not talk politics, he said. F. D. R. Washington, Dec. 7 (TP) Willis Mahoney of Portland, unsuccessful Democratic candi date for senator from Oregon in 1936, paid what he called a "social" call on President Roose velt today, asserting to report ers afterward that "we are all praying that he runs" for a third term. "There is only one candidate out in Oregon that is the presi dent," Mahoney said, adding ELDERLY DRUGGIST DIES ON ROADWAY Silverton, Ore., Dec. 7. OPi The body of George Steelham mer. Sr., elderly Silverton druggist, who had been missing from his home since last nipht, was found today on a road in the Silverton hills after he ap parently had been injured in an auto accident.
