Grey of 22 Rose avenue returned by train yesterday morning from San Francisco where he spent last week visiting his son Larry Grey and family and attending the Golden Gate international exposition on Treasure Island. Mr. Meeker said that places visited have proved to be interesting and that he and his wife expect to return to Medford November 8 or 10. ... Weather Clear Crater Lake national park's south and west roads to the lake rim were clear of snow and dry today, rangers said in their morning short-wave radio broadcast. The weather was clear but visibility was somewhat poor because of a smoke haze from slash burnings outside the park, rangers said. Minimum temperature during the night was H8 degrees. . Well-Baby Clinic Monthly well-baby clinic will be held in the Sparrow memorial suite of the Jackson county courthouse from 1:30 to 4 p. m. Thursday Dr. A.- E. No babies having colds or coughs will be admitted, parents were counselled. . Pays Tribute Capt. Reginald H. Vincent today paid a tribute to General Evangeline Booth, who retired today as interna tional head of the Salvation Army after directing the orga nlzatlon's many-phased opera tions in 87 countries and col onies for the past five years. Captain Vincent, head of the Salvation Army unit here, d clared that the retiring leader "has made the world a better place in which to live." Her long career, he continued, "is a sage of tremendous loves for the masses as a devoted servant of God; of an inborn dramatic tal ent and eloquence applied in all its fervor to the cause of militant gospel; of exceptional administrative gifts, business vision and sane imagination; of travels that have encircled the globe; of countless honors, even to those conferred by presidents and kings: of results abundant In tens of thousands helped to better things, and thousands lift ed from the depths to a high plateau of noble living and use ful citizenship." To Attend Riles Sheriff Syd I. Brown and State Police Cap tain Lee M. Bown plan to go to Klamath Falls tomorrow to at tend funeral services for Haidin C. Blackmer, Klamath county district attorney who died sud denly yesterday. The services are to be held at 2 p. m. Travel North Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Burbidge of 136 Willam ette street left yesterday bv motorcar for Bremerton Wash., to visit Mr. Burbidge's brother, John Burbidge, who recently suffered a stroke. En route home the couple will stop in Portland to visit their daughter, Mrs. Jso- bel Sherrig. a former Medford resident. They expect to be away about ten days. Coast Data The AAA office at Riverside avenue and Fifth street today received a copy of the 1939-40 Lincoln county coast directory which contains a wealth of information about the county and its coastal cities and resorts. Among many other things, the directory has the names of all business concerns. a classified business listing, a pictorial section of Lincoln coun ty coast scenes, a buyer s guide. maps and mileage tables. The directory was sent to the AAA office by Frank Unger, presi dent of the Newport chamber of commerce. It may be used by the public at he AAA office. Airport Arrivals Today's ar rivals at Medford municipal air port included Capt. R. C. Farley, en route from Red Bluff, Cal., to Portland in a Porterfield Zephyr, and Lieut. F, M. Adams, Sacra mento, Cal., to Pearson field, Vancouver, Wash., in an army North American basic combat plane. Farley is west coast rep resentative of the Porterfield Turner Aircraft company. Dana Boiler arrived late yesterday from Klamath Falls in an eight place Lockheed plane owned by E. L. Foley, Pasadena business man who was duck hunting in the Klamath lake country. Boiler picked up S. Royce and M.
