Weather Clear Crater Lake

of snow and dry today, rangers
said in their morning short-wave
radio broadcast. The weather
was clear but visibility was
somewhat poor because of a
smoke haze from slash burnings
outside the park, rangers said.
Minimum temperature during
the night was H8 degrees.

Pays Tribute Capt. Reginald
H. Vincent today paid a tribute
to General Evangeline Booth,
who retired today as interna
tional head of the Salvation
Army after directing the orga
nlzatlon's many-phased opera
tions in 87 countries and col
onies for the past five years.
Captain Vincent, head of the
Salvation Army unit here, d
clared that the retiring leader
"has made the world a better
place in which to live." Her
long career, he continued, "is a
sage of tremendous loves for the
masses as a devoted servant of
God; of an inborn dramatic tal
ent and eloquence applied in
all its fervor to the cause of
militant gospel; of exceptional
administrative gifts, business
vision and sane imagination; of
travels that have encircled the
globe; of countless honors, even
to those conferred by presidents

Airport Arrivals Today's ar

port included Capt. R. C. Farley,
en route from Red Bluff, Cal., to
Portland in a Porterfield Zephyr,
and Lieut. F, M. Adams, Sacra

plane. Farley is west coast rep
resentative of the Porterfield
Turner Aircraft company. Dana
Boiler arrived late yesterday
from Klamath Falls in an eight
place Lockheed plane owned by
E. L. Foley, Pasadena business
man who was duck hunting in
the Klamath lake country. Boiler
picked up S. Royce and M. Neal,
also Pasadena business men who
had arrived by United Main
liner, and took them to Klamath
Falls to join the hunting party.
