(AP) "Grandma" Ida Maus. 68. Samaritan to the down -and -outer, died yester day. Twenty years ago Mrs. Maus launched her private fight for the underdog by opening "Grandmas Kitchen," a haven where indleent men could get a bite to eat and a place to sleep. She said she was prompted by a fear her own wander ing son might be "down on his luck. - Countless wayfarers ate at her table, slept in her limited but scrupulously clean establishment. In recent months she fed about oOO men daily and provided beds for 150. Her "hotel" was financed with out solicitation. She is survived by her widower, two daughters and two sons. PORTLAND, Oct. 14 (AP) Re ports here today indicated the Mc-Nary-for-Presldent move started by Governor Sprague had reached the senate. Humphrey Used Car Department Moves The Humphrey Motora used car department has been moved from Eighth and Bartlett to the new loca tion at 33 South Riverside. The new lot is located under the canopy along the side and In the rear of the building, giving a total display capacity of from 25 to 30 cars. Bill Stirling, used car manager, says he plans to give the same friendly cooperation to used car buy ers that he has always given In the past. In the new location he will have even finer used cars than was possible before. The complete lot is well Illumi nated with flood-llghta to aid those who have to do their shopping alter dark. Mr. Stirling says: "I definitely pledge my department to at all times live up to the Humphrey Motors slogan, 'Our customers stay satis fied.' " Wright Is Manager New Service Dept. Richard "Dick" Wright, Humphrey Motors service manager has had 12 years experience with Chrysler corpo ration products. ' Mr. Wright has supervised the in stallation of equipment which makes It possible for Humphrey Motors to Frank Humphrey, local De Soto and Plymouth dealer gives the pub lic all the credit for making it pos sible for his company to expand. Eighteen months ago Mr. Hum phrey came to Medford from Kla math Falls to organize the Brlggs Humphrey Motor Co. It wasn't long before he found that the old loca tion was Inadequate to take care of a growing business. Mr. Humphrey recently took over complete owner ship by buying out his partner, Frank Briggs.
