Louis Bromfield's Novel Wins Crowds Craterian Showing "The Rains Come." the sensation ally successful best-seller by Louis Bromfleld. was presented at the Cra terlan theatre last night with Myrna Loy. Tyrone Power and George Brent in the stellar roles, and the occasion was one of which the producers may well be proud. For a truly great motion picture has been made of Bromfield's thrill ing story of a handful of humans, cut off from the world in the colorful mythical city of Ranchipur. India their emotions at the breaking point, their Uvea at the climax, and all re straint swept away as the untamed forces of nature ravage the earth. All the fascinating characters come mag ically to life and the earthquake, fire and flood scenes are reproduced with a breath-taking realism unequalled In the memory of this reviewer. Myrna Loy deserts the "perfect wife" role to play the amorous Lady Esketh and proved more entrancing than ever as thla lady of many loves Tyrone Power has his most romantic and best role as Major Rama Saftl, the handsome, high-caste Hindu, with whom Lady Esketh finds the only real love of her life. And George Brent is splendid as the world-weary Tom Ransome, a ghost out of Lady Esketh's past. Featured In the perfect support ing cast are Brenda Joyce, latest discovery, who triumphs in her film debut as Fern Simon; Nigel Bruce. Marie Ouspenskaya, Joseph Schild kraut, Mary Nash, Jane Darwell. Marjorie Rambeau, Henry Travers and H. B. Warner. The . film will play through Sat urday. Use Mall Tribune want ads.
