Hurds Away Mr. and Mrs. 0. M. 'Hurd of Perrydale left this- after noon for the south where they will enjoy a three weeks' vacation. . Chorus to Meet Jackson County Teachers' chorus will hold Its -first meeting of the season tomorrow morning at '10 In the county court house auditorium. Medics Meet Jackson County Med ical society met Wednesday evening at the .Chateau for a dinner session for which Dr. Hattle Shaw of Ash land was hostess. Drummond. naturalist at Crater Lake national park, returned today to the park after an overnight stay at his home here, 21 Portland avenue. Mrs. Doerr and their two children, after residing In the park during the summer, re turned to their Medford home Sep tember 1. The older girl, Nancy Anna, entered school for the first time this fall. May field, new principal of Medford high school, gave a talk on modern edu cation at the regular weekly dinner meeting of the Lions club Tuesday evening In the Hotel Holland. A musical program arranged by Mrs. Harry Prentice was presented during the dinner hour. A record in at tendance for the year was estab lished. Ray Marti, president, pre sided. Dies in South A. R. Clement of 1223 West Main street received word today of the death of B, P. Nelll yesterday at the Veterans hospital In Sawtelle, Cal. With Mrs. Nelll, Mr. Nelll resided In Red Wing. Minn. The couple recently spent two weeks here visiting Mr. and Mrs. Clement. Mr.jClement and Mr. Nelll were long time friends, having been comrades In the Spanish-American war In the Philippines. Mr. NelU's body was to be taken back to Red Wing for burial. Disgruntled Patient . Murders Physician PITTSBURGH, Sept, lfl. (AP) A disgruntled patient, seeking "re venge," today shot and killed a phy sician and wounded an associate who Detective Captain Franklin T. Mc Quatde said had treated the patient 15 years. McQualde said the' patient, whom he identified as Mike Koskl, 46, went to the physician's office to kill Jos eph Cerra, but only wounded him and fatally shot Dr. F. G. Leslie. McQualde said Koskl claimed Cerra had recently discharged him as cured after treating him for a venereal dis ease and charging $1,500 In fees.
