The snow storm i abated for a time yesterday when rain fell. The precipitation turned to snow again last night and five Inches of snow were deposited during th nigni, tne rangers said. AT ELKS SESSION Six men will be Initiated Into the Medford Elks lodge tomorrow night, the ritual to carry out the "Ameri canism" theme In line with a nation wide Elks club observance of "Ameri canism Night." according to Ernest Scott, secretary. In the after noon, during a high wind, the roof of their house caught fire. The fire was extinguished without serious damage but the same night the wind Increased to gate proportions and blew the roof off their kitchen. They were without a fire in the house until noon the following day when, with the aid of Cecil Culbert- son, Floyd Harper and Walter Geh rig, tne roof and chimneys were placed. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Gentner and daughters and Mrs. Laura Pierce of Medford called at the C. R. Culbert son home last Thursday. Maurice Davles left recently for Portland, where he will undergo an operation. Mrs. John Rader of Eagle Point enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner with her daughter. Mrs. Harvey Stanley, Mrs. Vern Anderson, who hsa been staying In Ashland the past six weeks, will return home Tuesday with her new daughter, Arlene.
