Director Robert Fchner said this waa about 78 per cent of the num ber required to bring the CCC to Its maximum strength of 300,000. He aald the labor department re ported there would be about 235,000 applicants for enrollment during Oc tober. He estimated not more than a fourth of this number could be taken.
