Another little pig, strange as it seems, almost changed the course of history by the simple expedient of digging up a few potatoes! The other little pig was owned by an Irish-Canadian living on tiny San Juan Island, near Vancouver, back in 1859; the potatoes he rooted up be longed to Layman Culver, an Ameri can living on the same island. Annoyed, Culver repeatedly warned the pig's owner, finally killed the pig. The Irishman, an official of the Hudson Bay company, decided to make an official issue of the situ ation. He would appeal for redress to Brltalns' highest court, he said.
