Latttn. district manager of the Pa cific Motor company, arrived on this morning's train from Portland and were to transact business In Medford today. - Interested In Oregon Copies of the Mall Tribune were ordered today by Edward L. Pappermann of 8alt Lake City, so that he might procure In formation of southern Oregon. Mr. Pappermann wrote that he waa inter ested in southern Oregon as a place to live. To Vacation Elmer L. Clow. Jack son county Jailer, will leave tomor row on a ten-day. vacation which he plans to spend at his gold mine In the Humbug area. His place as Jailer will be filled during hia absence by Charles P. Champlln, Jr., special deputy sheriff. , Skiing Still Poor With no fresh snow since termination of talnfall last Wednesday, skiing conditions continue poor In Crater Lake national park. It was stated In this morning's dally broadcast. All park roada are open and there has been no change In general conditions from those ex isting over the week-end, park rapg ers reported. Tribe to Meet Klamath Indian tribe will hold a general council meet. Ing In the council house on the Klamath agency Monday, December a at 10 a. m. Lunch la to be served at noon. i Cininje Meet Off Regular Decem ber 2 business meeting of the Talent Orange will be omitted because of the bazaar and turkey dinner sched uled by the organization for the same day. It was announced this morning. The bazaar will be held In the Talent Grange hall from 2 to d tomorrow afternoon. The turkey dinner will be held In the same place from 6 to 8. After the dinner a dance will be held. The public la Invited to all three events. Small Blaze Negligible damage waa done by fire this morning at the residence being built on West Main street near Peach street by Oris Craw ford, aalstant manager of the First National bank. Cause waa attributed by Chief Roy Elliott to a short cir cuit in an electric wire conduit lead ing Into the house under the rear porch. A few feet of siding were burned, the chief reported, the fire men cutting the wires to end the short, circuit. Carpenters at work on the house reported the blaze, the firemen answering a ward alarm at 10:15. Fnllstments Heavy During Novem ber. 159 men were enlisted In the United States army In the Portland district. It was stated In a preaa re lease today from MaJ. H. D. Bagnsll. recruiting officer. It was the heavi est recruiting November In recent years, the major aald. A number of the recruit came from Medford and vicinity. Nearly 100 of the new men elected to serve In Hawaii, no one chose to serve In Alaska. Bagnall atat ed.
