From a single receaaed entrance, doors will lead from the aide to each apartment of the duplex unit. The floors will be on concrete, with a border simulating tile. Walla will be of alx-lnch hollow tile, with an ex terior stucco finish and an Interior finish of cement sprayed with a ce ment paint. Materials were carefully selected, It was emphasized, to pre vent the absorption of molature. In addition to the thick walls and six-Inch concrete noors, solidity Is provided by a footing of concrete 16 Inches deep. Insulation also was care fully planned to make each apart ment soundproof and to repel the cold of winter and the beat of sum mer. Each apartment will comprise a spacious bedroom, complete bath room with abower stall and an am ple clothes closet. The garage, form ing a contiguous part of the apart ment, will be at tbe rear, with a direct entrance to the cabin. While here he became favorably Impressed with the west coast, Its congenial climate, majestic grandeur and out door recreational facilities. After returning to Detroit he dwell ed upon the desirable attributes of life here and the posalbllltles of cut ting loose from his profession to establish a modern tourist center. Project Evolved. Dr. Loeffler consulted Mr. Barrett, friend of long standing and an executive with the Chyrsler corpora tion. Together they evolved the plan that haa materialized Into the pres ent projeot. ASHLAND, Nov. 0.(Spl.) William Hubbard of Los Angeles has com pleted negotiations for the purchase of the Km 11 Pell property on Siskiyou boulevard between the Community hospital and the old greenhouse. He plana to erect a modern home and eight duplex apartments for the tour ist trade. The property la 180 feet wide and about 300 feet deep. It was esti mated that about efl.000 will be In vested In the residence and 15.000 In the cabin layout. Mr. Hubbard has rented the Mlckle residence at B70 Falrview, according to W. W. Robtaon, who handled the real estate transaction. Before re turning to Los Angeles for a brief visit, Mr. Hubbard contacted local contractors and supply dealers on the project, Mr. Hubbard formerly resided in Washington. D.
