At the same time, however, the church's triennial general conven tion here, through which th coop erative moves were made, decided not to Join the federal council of churches of Christ in the United States until after the conference on the world council. The Invitation to the Presbyterians was said by Informed churchmen to be the most Important and definite step the Episcopal church has ever taken toward union with another denomination. It has been holding conversations with the Presbyterians and Methodists for several yeara, has aproached the Lutherans, ahd la con sidering opening negotiations with the Reformed Eplscopsl churoh. KANSAS CITY PICKETS KANSAS CITY, Oct. 18. The Star today quoted Harry Bennett, Ford Motor company executive, aa saying "as far aa I am concerned we axe all through In Kanaai City," where the company's closed assembly plant has been picketed since Monday.
