And, that's Just what local officials are figuring on. The athletic depression In north west colleges Is over for good. When the University of Montana was voted back Into the Pacific coast confer ence, northern division, baske'tbsll race .the five big universities admit ted once and for all that the wolf, that more than sniffed at their back doors for several years, had departed for better hunting grounds. Montana, which never turned out such hot quintets anyway, was drop ped from the northern division cir cuit about four years ago. It was plenty slim pickings for all the schools along about then, and the long trip to Missoula didn't help fin ancial mattera any. Montana never drew many paying customers even at home, and while on the road, played to even more meagre crowds. Last year, all northern division schools showed sharp attendance Increases, which no doubt accounts for the re admlttance of the Grizzlies. So this coming winter. It' will be a six-cornered battle for the title and right to meet the southern division winner for the coast championship.
