Machines operated by Margaret Baugnmen of Rogue River and Clarence H. Hlner of Central Point were Involved In an accident at Central avenue and Third atreet yesterday afternoon, a city polloe report said today. Garden Freaks Two sets of Slam aae Rocky Ford cantaloupe twins were placed on display today in the Jackson County Chamber of Com , merce. They were grown by Lewis H. Lang In hla Eagle Point garden. Mr. Lang said three seta of twins grew on the same vine. Also on display at the chamber were stalks of popcorn measuring almost 13 feet In height. They were grown by J. E. Rexroad of Central Point. Mr. Rexroad said he procured the seeds from Roeeburg and did not know the variety of the exceptionally tall plant. Meeting Put Off Announcement was made today of the Indefinite postponement of the meeting sched uled for tonight by the fish and game committee of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce. Postponement was attributed to a probable lack of a quorum because of the absenoe of members, most of whom are out of town. The deferred meeting will probably be held early In September, It was said. 'RANCHERIA' NEAR BUTTE FALLS SOLD TO LOS ANGELESAN The recent sale of "Rancherla, lo cated about eight miles above Butte Palls, by Maud L. McDonald to Fred erick M. Klncald of Los Angeles was announced today by the Charlea A. Wing agency, which handled the transaction. Sale price waa reported In excess of 10,000. Consisting of 300 acres, the prop erty Is considered one of the finest Irrigated stock ranches In southern Oregon. Mr. Klncald, who la a prac ticing attorney In Los Angeles, sev eral years ago purchased the property adjoining "Rancherla" from the Charles A. Wing agency, and plans extensive Improvements on both properties. He plana to make hla fu ture home there. Other ssles announced by the Wing agency Include property at 704 West second street belonging to Lena M. Faxson to Mr. and Mrs. Clifford W Wagner. The property at 813 Cedar street belonging to Mrs. Marie Roland waa recently purchased by Mlas Mary Smith, who Is oocupylng this as her home, 10 LOCATE WEST SIDE BLAZE AT An odd sort of fire threatened to do serious dsmage to the West Side Pharmacy at West Main and Grape streets for a time this morning but after surmounting difficulties the fire department's chemical crew sup pressed the blaze without damage to the drug store. The blaze was probably caused by a cigarette dropped through a side walk grating on the Grape atreet side of the building, Fire Chief Roy Elliott aatd. Debris at the bottom of the opening under the grating was Ignited. A vent extended from the open ing under the drug store floor end the fire extended Into It. sending smoke up through the floor In the pharmacy. To find out precisely where the fire was, a fireman had to crawl for 30 feet under the floor and from there give directions for spraying chemical fluld8 over the blaze. The grating la to be removed and the opening closed, Chief Elliott stated. Meshle. cultured chimpanzee, died recently at the Brookfleld zoo, Chi cago.
