was made today of the Indefinite

a quorum because of the absenoe of

town. The deferred meeting will
probably be held early In September,

The recent sale of "Rancherla, lo
cated about eight miles above Butte
Palls, by Maud L. McDonald to Fred
erick M. Klncald of Los Angeles was
announced today by the Charlea A.
Wing agency, which handled the
transaction. Sale price waa reported
In excess of 10,000.
Consisting of 300 acres, the prop
erty Is considered one of the finest
Irrigated stock ranches In southern
Oregon. Mr. Klncald, who la a prac
ticing attorney In Los Angeles, sev
eral years ago purchased the property
adjoining "Rancherla" from the
Charles A. Wing agency, and plans
extensive Improvements on both
properties. He plana to make hla fu
ture home there.

WEST SIDE
BLAZE AT
An odd sort of fire threatened to
do serious dsmage to the West Side
Pharmacy at West Main and Grape
streets for a time this morning but
after surmounting difficulties the
fire department's chemical crew sup
pressed the blaze without damage to
the drug store.
The blaze was probably caused by
a cigarette dropped through a side
walk grating on the Grape atreet
side of the building, Fire Chief Roy
Elliott aatd. Debris at the bottom of
the opening under the grating was
Ignited.
A vent extended from the open
ing under the drug store floor end
the fire extended Into It. sending
smoke up through the floor In the
pharmacy. To find out precisely
where the fire was, a fireman had
to crawl for 30 feet under the floor
and from there give directions for
spraying chemical fluld8 over the
blaze.
The grating la to be removed and
the opening closed, Chief Elliott
stated.
