At Pourmlle lake, sllvereldes sre biting well but not many eastern brook sre being caught The state game commission planted nan in the south fork of Little Butte creek last week. "Pair catches are being mods' In a few tributaries of the upper ftog'ie river, with the best luck In Union creek and Mill creek. Good catches sre being mads In the main river In the vicinity of the tog lam two miles above the Browns Cabin road. Both grasshoppers and cluster salmon eggs have met with fair results and some anglers are using small spinners with worms. Fishing and swimming are good In the Big Applegate and Its tribu taries, where the water has been ex ceptionally clear for the past two weeks. Good catches nave been re ported tsken In the evenings by the use 01 nies. In the Butte Palls district, fishing Is fair In Mid lake, Grass lske and Cliff lake of the Seven lakes group, and In the mttldle and south forks of the Rogue. Grayhackle and salmon. mea nave Been very effective In tliese two streams but no catches of any size have been reported from the smaller streams of the district nor fro mthe Blue Canyon lakes. Huckleberries at Huckleberry mountain are now beginning to ripen but picking will not be good until about August 16. CORVALLIS RITES FOR ELLENBURG The body of State Police Sergeant William H. Ellenburg, who died Wed nesday afternoon of a heart attack, was sent to Corvallls last night by train. A full military funeral will be held from the Keeney funeral home In that city tomorrow morning at 10:30 o'clock. ' Members of local state police head quarters, to which Sergeant Ellen burg had been attached for the past five years, paid their last respects to their departed friend and fellow offi cer. A guard of honor escorted the body from the Perl funerM hom to the depot, and stood with uncovered heads as It was placed aboard for transfer to his old home town. Those composing the guard of honor were Sergeant H. W. Howard and Privates J. C. Johnson, A. E. Stoehr, Frank Beers and Clark John son of the Medford office, and Ser geant O. A. MacKinnon of Klamath Falls. Sergeant H. W. Howard and Private J. C. Johnson were to leave Medford today to take part In final services at Corvallls tomorrow morning. With 14 other state police officers from all parts of Oregon, they will form a guard of honor at the funeral.
