be staged for swimmers. A lifeguard
Is employed by the springs manage
ment to safeguard children aa well
as adults.
A prise la being offered for the
subordinate Orange having the larg
est count at lunch time. Also, the
largest Orsnge family In attendance
will take home a prize.
Winnie Brown, H. E. O. chairman,
has asked each family to bring a
well filled basket with table service.
Coffee and sugar will be furnished
by the H. E. committee.

nounced today by Maurice SpaU.
The incorppratlon Involves no
change In the ownership by the
Spata Brothers, the management or
operation of the company, Mr. Spatz
said. The Incorporation simply gives
the company a legal entity, he point
ed out.
The unincorporated company of the
same name was recently dissolved to
pave the way for the formal Incor
poration. Mr. Spata explained.

a new geyser under waters of Yel

end of October 30 and 80, 1037. at
the Southern Oregon Btate Normal
school in Aibland.
The teachers' lnatltute and confer
ence, the third of It kind to be held
on the normal actios! campus, spon
aored by the counties of Jackaon.
Joaephlne, Klamath and Lake and the
Southern Oregon State Normal school.
la expected to draw 1.000 teachers
from these and adjoining counties.
Dr. Paul McKee of the Colorado
State College of Education at Greeley
who waa tx popular at the conference
In April. 1036, haa been secured for
lectures and dlacuaslons, aa have other
prominent educators In the Pacific
northwest.
The Institute program will cover
the 20th and the morning of the
30th, with C. R. Bowman, Jackson
county school superintendent; Fred
Peterson, Klamath county superin
tendent of schools; H. H. Wardrlp,
Joaephlne county superintendent;
Mrs. Anne Sprague, superintendent of
ichoola In Lake county, and Presi
dent Wtlter Red ford of the normal
school as executive committee.
Homecoming of the normal school
graduate is to be In conjunction
with the conference this year for the
convenience of the school alumni
who are teaching In southern Ore
gon. The festivities will be Initiated
with a banquet, followed by a play
presented by the normal school, both
open to conference attendants not
graduates of the school, on the even
ing of the 20th.
A football game on the local field
Saturday afternoon will be featured
on the homecoming program, follow
ed by an alumni "mixer" In the even

The following recreational bulletin
was Issued today by Rogue liver na
tional forest headquarters:
"Cooler weather In the mountain
ous areas, with fishing from good to
fair, promises many refreshing out
ings during the week-end.
"At Lake of the Woods' swimming
conditions are Ideal. Many sllvsrslde
trout, ranging from 13 to 18 Inches,
an being taken by still fishing at
th south end. At Pourmlle lake,
sllvereldes sre biting well but not
many eastern brook sre being caught
The state game commission planted
nan in the south fork of Little Butte
creek last week.
"Pair catches are being mods' In a
few tributaries of the upper ftog'ie
river, with the best luck In Union
creek and Mill creek. Good catches
sre being mads In the main river In
the vicinity of the tog lam two miles
above the Browns Cabin road. Both
grasshoppers and cluster salmon eggs
have met with fair results and some
anglers are using small spinners with
worms.
Fishing and swimming are good
In the Big Applegate and Its tribu
taries, where the water has been ex
ceptionally clear for the past two
weeks. Good catches nave been re
ported tsken In the evenings by the
use 01 nies.
In the Butte Palls district, fishing
Is fair In Mid lake, Grass lske and
Cliff lake of the Seven lakes group,
and In the mttldle and south forks
of the Rogue. Grayhackle and salmon.

two streams but no catches of any
size have been reported from the
smaller streams of the district nor
fro mthe Blue Canyon lakes.
Huckleberries at Huckleberry
mountain are now beginning to ripen
but picking will not be good until
about August 16. In the Dead Indian
district, the crop does not appear to
be very promising but a few are
already ripening on the southwest

ing the past week, which fortunately
was confined to an area of four acres.

CORVALLIS RITES
FOR ELLENBURG
The body of State Police Sergeant
William H. Ellenburg, who died Wed
nesday afternoon of a heart attack,
was sent to Corvallls last night by
train. A full military funeral will
be held from the Keeney funeral
home In that city tomorrow morning
at 10:30 o'clock.
' Members of local state police head
quarters, to which Sergeant Ellen
burg had been attached for the past
five years, paid their last respects to
their departed friend and fellow offi
cer. A guard of honor escorted the
body from the Perl funerM hom to
the depot, and stood with uncovered
heads as It was placed aboard for
transfer to his old home town.
Those composing the guard of
honor were Sergeant H. W. Howard
and Privates J. C. Johnson, A. E.
Stoehr, Frank Beers and Clark John
son of the Medford office, and Ser
geant O. A. MacKinnon of Klamath
Falls.
Sergeant H. W. Howard and Private
J. C. Johnson were to leave Medford
today to take part In final services
at Corvallls tomorrow morning. With
14 other state police officers from all
parts of Oregon, they will form a
guard of honor at the funeral.
