The affair Is being held to raise funds for a highly respected Jackson county family, beset by several se rious misfortunes during the past year. Food and medicines are among the Items that are urgently needed. Learning ot the family's plight, friends arranged among themselves to render eld. The movement spreaa spontaneously and the agriculture committee volunteered to take charge of the benefit. All county Orangea are participat ing In the affair and the public is Invited to attend and help the cause. The Jacksonville orchestra will provide music at the hall and several other dance bands have been en gaged to play for the ovcflow crowds that are expected. Cannery and Agricultural Workers' union on new wage and hour schedules. Association officials contended the scales proposed by the union would Increase apple and pear prices 36 cents a box.
