He left In Oc tober 1933 for Hawaii national park. He has been back in the United States for the past year. Leavltt at Crater After a two-day visit E. P. Leavltt, recently apponted superintendent of Crater lake national park, returned Saturday to Lassen volcanic national park of which he had been superintendent for the past two years. Mr. Leavltt, who la re placing David H. Can field, promoted to Rocky mountain national park, will not take active charge until the latter part of the month. The date of Mr. Canfleld'a transfer to Rocky mountain park has not yet been an nounced. Crater Park Tour An educations) group of 26 students from the Mis sissippi state college has been spend ing several days in Crater lake na tional park studying geologic aspects of the park. This Is the first of group of educational tours expected in th park during the summer. Swimming and horsehoe pitching featured entertainment for the day. Legion Installation New officers of Medford post of the -American Legion will be Installed at a regular meeting In the armory at 8 o'clock tomorrow night. After the Installation a Dutch lunch will be served and a program of entertainment presented. Goodwin Humphreys is chairman of the com mittee in charge of the collation. Eirl Foy heads th committee in charge of the entertainment. All American Legion members are urged to make a special effort to be present. Coincidence Noted W. T. Sledden and Eric Helgeson, Baa Francisco rep resentatives of Nation's Business, were Medford visitors today. They confer red with A. H. Banwell, manager of the Jaokson County Chamber of Com merce. Forty cars were regis tered at McKee bridge In the Apple gate, 370 persons used the camp grounds In tho Union Creek district and 117 in the Butte Palls area. Largest crowds of the season were re ported at Lake of the Woods, Fish lske and Four-Mile lake. An electric storm occurred In the Lake of the Woods area but no damage was re ported. Forest lookouts counted SO lightning flashes, pnly one of which struck the eafth. none of which struck tree.
