United Spanish War Veterans State Encampment to Open Here Sunday MEMORIAL RITES WILL BE FEATURE Registration Slated at Hotel Medford Auxiliary and Other Branches Also to Hold Annual Sessions t The 90th annual atate encampment of the United Spanish War Veterans wilt officially open Sunday morning at eight o'clock when registration and nouelnf of delegatea and rlaltora will tako place at the Hotel Bedford, de partment headquartere. Mere than 600 delegtaea from all parte of Oregon are expected to at tend the four-day encampment, which will end Wednesday, July 14. During that time, the Department of Oregon Auxiliary will be meeting In lte a let Annual convention, and the Military Order of the Serpent will stage lte , 10th annual convocation. Sargent Camp Hoit Colonel Sargent Camp of Medford and the auxiliary will be hosts to the fate encampment, and elaborate ar rangement have been made for the entertainment of the gueata. Feature of the opening U. 8. W. V. day program Sunday will be memor lal aervlcea at the First Presbyterian ' church at 8 p. m., E. W. Hoffman, chairman. Opening prayer will be giv en by the Rev. Sherman Divine fol lowing an organ prelude and singing of America. The Rev. 8. B. Bart I am of St. Mark's Episcopal church will I gtvw a scripture reading. Introduc tory remarks will be made by Hugh A. Rogers, department commander, and Millie Hall, department president. Department Chaplain I. O. Shaw Will give the memorial address, fol lowed by the reading of names of deceased comrades by Department Registrar Thomas C. Bodley, and read ing of names of deceased sisters by Department Secretary Orace - Faust. Placing of flowers will be done by Jane Monroe, who will also aay a prayer. Following a solo, "Whispering Hope the aervlcea will end with bugle taps by Henry Barron, chief of musicians.
