Showing a fourth consecutive monthly gain, and establishing a new monthly record with an output of 9819 new Willys cars in April, total output of the 1937 Willys models reached 38.431 unlti as of May 1, David R. Wilson, jresid;ent of Wlllya-Overland Motors, Inc., announced today. April production was 4.5 per cent greater than that of the preceding month which had been the record month since production of the new models began late last fall. The factory sales division reports all cars being shipped at the close of each day's manufacture, with advance orders still exceeding production cMdulea. retribution Ls through 3300 deal ers who are participating In the spring parade, a natton-wlde sales campaign calling for 1,000,000 Willys demonstrations In seven weeks. This campaign was launched April 19 and will oontiune until June 7. Although the campaign has been In progress only two weeks, large In creases in retail sales have been re ported by dealers throughout the United States. It ls estimated that the special Wll ,lys demonstrators will travel an ag gregate of 10.000,000 miles during the seven-week demonstration program. This program ls being backed by an extensive newspaper and magazine advertising, together with poster, di rect mall and radio campaigns. Abbey, Inc., Allls-Chil-mers distributor, announces the first small, successful combine harvester which Is the successor to the binder, according to Dan Howard, tractor and farm equipment sales manager. Howard says: "Tnls new all-crop harvester will lower harvesting costs far below the costs, of any other method. It will harvest 87 types of seed and crops.
