They declined to state tho cause of death, but his ailment had been re ported by docton earlier in the eve ning as cerebro-splnal meningitis. The twins, both married vaudeville performers, entered the hospital Nov. i7, when Luclo was taken Hi with nn sllmcnt diagnosed as pneumonia. His condition became critical, while hla brother, Joined to him nt the hips by a segment of tlssuo 24 Inches in circumference, remained in ap parently perfect health. . When Luclo apparently was recov ering from his illness and SlmpUcta was fretting about having to lie In bed awaiting hla brother's full recov ery. Luclo die suddenly of rheumatic fever. An operation supervised by Dr. H M. Werthelm was performed within an hour after Luclo'a death severing the tissue connection, and It was viewed as successful principally because the brothers had separate blood and nerv ous systems. Since then, Bimpllclo had remained In bed awaiting the healing of the wound.
