Merchandising and low - priced amusements were in the best demand. The steels picked up early but could not hold. Mines, motors, utilities and several of the rails wen In the skidding division. The admission of the president that a study was being made of the possible need of legislation to control foreign buying of American securities, which lately has reached large pro portions, helped to sober proponents of the advance.
