Of Interert to their many friends Is announcement of the wedding of Olive Warren, -daughter of Mrs. O. E. Stlnson, and Louis Putman, son or Mr. and Mrs. George F. Putman of Eagle Point. The ceremony was solemnized at the home of the bride's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Strode, near Myrtle Creek at 7 o'clock Wednesday evening. The ring cere mony was read by Rev. Taggert of Myrtle Creek before a fireplace banked with autumn flowers and fo liage combined with pastel tapers. The bride wore a drown suit with rust accessories and a corsage of gar denias. Her bridesmaids, the Misses Minnie and Florence Putman, slsterA of the groom, wore blue and greon crepe with corsages of rosebuds and lilies of the valley. William Strode was best man and Mnster Jerry War ren ring bearer. Guests were members of the Im mediate families and a few Intimate friends. A reception followed the ceremony. After a short honeymoon trip on the Oregon coast, Mr. and Mrs. Put man will make their homo here. Katharine Woods, queen of the tem ple, who has been visiting In the north, Is to be present to preside at the session. This Is the second sched uled meeting of the fall season. Mrs. Melrlng; and Mother Oo North Among Medfordltes visiting out of town Is Mrs. Herman J. Melrlng, who left this morning by train for Fort land. She was accompanied by her mother, Mrs. W. H. Kay of Salem, who has spent the past fow days as guest of her daughter and son-in- law here. Mrs. Melrlng plans to vlrtt relatives and friends In the northern city for about ten days. Guest to Leave For Home Sunday Mrs. R. N. Day, who has been Medford visitor for tho past five weeks, will leave Sunday evening to return to her home In New Orleans, La. She has been the guest of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Reum. Mrs. Reum also plans to leave Sunday for the south, going to San Francisco where she will spend several days seeing friends, and shopping. Corning Kenly, She Is a sis ter of Mrs. Konly. . Mrs. Hill plans to remain about 10 days, and will be greeted by a num ber of valley friends. .... Mrs. Duller Home Following Vacation Returning to her home here yes terday was Mrs. J. H. Butler, who has spent the past three weeks vaca tioning In southern California. She spent the greater part of her time as the guest of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mis. Claude Thompson, In Los Angeles. Durnos Spending Week-end In North Among Medford residents out of town this week-end are Dr and Mrs Edwin R. Durno, who left by train last night for Portland. While there they plan to attend tho Oregon California football game tomorrow afternoon. Other Medford folk expected to at tend the game Include Mr. and Mrs. Jack Porter. Eugene Guests to ' Return Tomorrow Mrs. Ernest Wyatt and Mrs. Edna Pearson, both 'of Eugene, will return to their homes tomorrow after a sev eral days' visit here. They havo been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. Reynolds. . Mrs. Reynolds will accompany them on the return trip by motor, and plans a short stay In Eugene. Antles Away to Visit In East Leaving on the Shasta this morn ing were Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Antle who plan a vacation trip In the east. They will make stops In Iowa, Ohio, Illinois and numerous other spots, go ing as far as Michigan. They plan to be away about a month, making visits to several rela tives and friends en route. They will return by motor.' Miss Moore Is Home from Campus Roturntng home this week was Miss Marlon Moore, who has spent tho past two weeks visiting In Eugene. She was the guest of friends on the Unlvorslty of Oregon campus during the first two weeks of school. IN CITY SCHOOLS Reports on attendance In city schools at the end of the first four week period show an Increase of 78 studenta. concentrated principally In' the senior and Junior high schools, with Jackson and Lincoln schools showing a decrease. Present enrollments, compared with those at the same time last year, are u follows: High school, 70S and 653; Junior high, 884 and 881; Jackson, 501 and 309; Lincoln. 355 end 280; Roosevelt, 303 and 303; Washington, 303 and 384. City Superintendent Hedrlck's of fice stated that a gradual Inccease In registration Is expected throughout the year, although most students who did not enroll at the beginning of tne term because of employment outside are now attending classes.
