Mentzer, vocational Instructor at Medford sen ior high school, returned thla morn ing from Portland where he waa call ed by the death of his mother. Convalescing Mrs. W. R. Slpea Is convalescing in Sacred Heart hospital where she underwent a major oper ation a week ago last Mpnday. She has recovered sufficiently to receive friends for short visits each day. , Business Visitor H. L. Moore of Ashland was among out of town res idents making business visits here Wednesday.
