A choir composed of singers from the community under direction of Yetta Olson wilt present an Easter cantata. The Thorn-Crowned King " at the Eagle Point Presbyterian church. Sunday. April 5, at 8 p. m. The singers have been devoting a good deal of time to rehearsals in order to give a finished performance of this beautiful cantata. The performance of this work on Good Friday evening promises to be of unusual interest to muslo lovers of the community. It la the first time the composition has been given In this part of the state. Eva Hazeirigg Marsh .and Sebastian Apollo, are well known amnog Medford music ians and assure an Interesting and effective accompaniment on the or gan and piano. The soloists are also known locally for their abilities. Mrs. C. H. Paske is singing the beau tiful soprano passages, Ralph Wald ron and W. P. Brooks, the tenor and baritone numbers. The entire performance will be under direction of Don Huckabee, organist and choirmaster at the Methodist church and organist at the Cratertan theatre. He brings a fine talent In direction to the pro gram and Is working tt rapidly Into concert condition. The performance, free to all who wish to attend, has been scheduled for 8:15 p. m., April 10. A cordial invitation la extended to all lovers of choral music to plan to attend. An exceptionally fine evening Is being prepared for the service of Easter Sunday night in the Metho- Wednesday Study Club s. 0CIETY and Clubs Mrs. Cook Speaks To B.P.W. Group An individual character analysis for each person followed the talk on the subject presented by Mrs. Florence Cook at the social meeting of the Business and Professional Women's club last Tuesday evening. Hostess for the evening was Mrs. Maude Snider at her home on North Orange street. Members and guests found .Mrs. Cook's presentation and discussion of her subject of great interest and declared the program to be one of (the most entertaining of the year. Box lunch refreshments were served later In the evening. Also part of the program was the group singing which added much to the enjoyable Informal atmosphere of the gather. lng. Church Auxiliary , Officers Elected Mrs. B. Finley entertained mem bers of the Ladles' auxiliary of the First Baptist church at her home on Ross Lane Tuesday at an all-day ses sion. Luncheon followed a short busi ness meeting in the morning. Princi pal event of the afternoon was the election of officers for the coming year. Mrs. N. A. Mead was elected president; Mrs. D. W. Roberts, vice president. Mrs. J. E. Lester, secretary; Mrs. Don Piatt, treasurer; and Mrs. B. F. Neff, pianist Most of the day was spent In White Cross work. An announcement was made of the missionary program be ing arranged for next Thursday eve ning. The program will be preceded by a covered-dish supper for congre- Announcement la made that the Wednesday Study club will meet April 1 at the Girls' Community club house. Mrs. C. A. P. Holt and Mrs. F. J. Newman, who were among the official delegates from Crater Lake chapter, D. A. R., to the state conference In Portland Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Mrs. M. M. Morris, also an official delegate, returned Friday. Other delegates were Mrs. J. A. Perry and Mra. H. F. V. Spllver, who alao re turned recently. At the conference, Mrs. Harding waa elected to the office of state regent and Mrs. Morris waa elected state corresponding secretary, both terms for the ensuing two years.
