"It more vital for the car owner to get his automobile ready for the heavy summer driving this . year than for a long time past," accord ing to Jack Anstey, budget manager of the Lewi Super Service station. "During the extremely severe win ter weather we have Just passed through, the average car was sub jected to more stress and strain then usual. Many motoriata realize the importance of thoroughly check ing every part of the car for safety In driving during the months when getting out on the open road 1 a real pleasure. "A few years ago, it was only the exceptional motorist who realized th need of a spring check-up before the heavy motoring months came. Today most car owners realize that the combination of high-speed auto mobiles and express highways de mand efficient operation ' and safe equipment, This can only be ob tained hy Inspection and the correc tion of minor faults before they be come major difficulties.. "Good tires, "of course, are the number I requirement for safety. It is for that reason Lewi Super Ser vice features the Safety SUvertown with the Life -Saver Golden Ply, and urge all motorists to come In for a check-up of the tires now on their cars. "Motorists are beginning to learn that heat aa great as that of boil ing water Is often generated in tire being driven at 40. SO and 60 miles sn hour. That'a the reason we like to tell car owners about a tire that resists heat and keeps the blisters that eventually cause .blow-outs from forming." Mr. Anstey says. "Then besides tlrea. there arc , brake that need check! .ng batteries J that should be Inspected, and acces- . aoricB such as head and tail-lights, windshield wlpors, horns and other equipment that should be looked ; over if trouble-free motoring is to result. In our spring sale we are I featuring msny of these Items that tend toward safety of motoring." OUST PORTLAND PASTOR ACCOUNT TEMPERAMENT PORTLAND, Ore., March 36.
