Mrs, Dean and Mrs. Stead were girlhood friends and they are both now in their seventy -fourth year, Henry Miller and Leslie Bailey were business visitors on the right fork of the creek, February 8, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Maples and son, who have been living In the Carr place for the past year, moved to Gold Hill last week to reside. At the close of the osremony. Mrs. f. W. Rlchter, as the bride's father, appeared with a enotgun. which frightened away the groom, the bride then going home with her father. This stunt had been given at the M. E. club, and caused so much merriment that It waa repeated for the benefit of the members who had not seen It. The thirty-ninth anniversary of the founding of the National Congress of Mothers will be observed February 17 by Parent Teacher people all over the land. while other ceremonlea and events will be observed by local branohes throughout the month.
