An Interesting feature of the trip was a visit to Bonneville, where the project of building the dam Is In course of con struction, and near by, on the river bank, ts a neat looking little town where about 3,000 employes are said to be housed. Gerald and Mildred Hansen, who are attending Normal, spent the week end at home. Mrs. W. M. Hansen re turned to Ashland with them Sunday ,and will spend a week there. A meeting of the taxpayers of dis trict No. 39 will be held at the school house Friday, February 14. at 8 p. m. A good attendance la urged by the school board. 4 McLeod McLEOD, Feb. 5. (Spl.) lrs. Imo gene Smith conducted a sewing class at the home of Mrs. Glass, January 29. The guide pattern course was completed and those who completed the course are now capable of draft ing their own patterns as well as sewing and fitting accurately. The community la deeply grieved over the deatn of J. F. Dltsworth, Sr., January 24. Mr. Dltsworth was one of our earliest settlers, having lived here almost continuously for 55 years. His stories of the early days on his homestead, which la now the Frank Dltsworth ranch, were a delight to all fortunate enough to hear them. For many years past hie birthday haa been celebrated by hla many rela tives and friends. He would have been 00 years old on his next birth day. Sincere sympathy Is extended to the bereaved family. Mrs. uits- worth leaves this week for Klamath Falls, where she will make her home With her daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dusenberry spent Saturday In Medford shopping and visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Drake, who are at present caring for his brother at Hol land, who Is quite feeble, came up Friday to cast their votes at the spe cial election. They returned to Hol land Saturday.
