The two will visit William Bar num. student at the North Pacific Dental college, before returning to Eugene, where Mrs. Elliott will be a guest of her daughter for a few days. Holding Trvouts Company A. 186th infantry, will hold a tryout at the Armory tonight to select a four man team to represent the unit In the William Randolph Hearst indoor rifle competition for the national guard. The team Is to be selected next week, after which actual firing will begin. The national contest will be Judged by mall. All shoots must be concluded by February 10. Rifles of .22 caliber are used. Attend Conference in Medford to day were Bishop Titus Lowe of the Portland area of the Methodist Epis copal church; Dr. J, C. Harrison, sup erintendent of the Portland area; Dr. Louis Megtn, superintendent of the Salem district, and S- W. Hall, super intendent of the Cascade district, who continued to Ashland for the third all-day conference of the church In Oregon, the other two having been held yesterday and Tuesday In Port land and Salem. Attending the Ash land conference from Medford was the Rev. Joseph Knotts, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church here. Return from Lake J. Carlisle Crouch, chief ranger, and Charles E. Chrlsler, chief clerk of Crater Lake national park, were back at their of fices in Federal building today, fol lowing an Inspection of properties. facilities and personnel at the moun tain resort. Mr. Crouch stated that skiing and weather conditions at the lake are now Ideal. All park roads are open excepting the stretch from headquarters to the rim, which will be plowed out soon, he said. The state highway leading to the west entrance Is still closed, he related, so that Medford residents must travel via Ashland and Klamath Falls to reach the resort.
