We used to spend an hour before each game hunting thru the irrigation ditch before we had enough pills to manage the first round. We remember one tune hatching a fine plan to get a lot of golf balls for nothing. The Municipal golf course offering two dozen bulla to any one making a hole In one, and we de cided to try for this .handsome trophy. We believe there waa also a case of beer In- ' " volved. Four of us were to play around together, and one of the quartette waa to make a hole In one, with the other three aa witnesses. We flipped a coin to see who'd be the hero, and one of the others won. Taking a terrific cut at the apple on the short No. 3 hole, his ball soared off at an angle and disappeared. It's still gone, aa far aa that got.
