The two teams were about as even a match as could be. At the half the church team was 1 point behind and at the beginning of the fourth quar ter the Sams Valley team still led. In the final quarter the church five came back with good teamwork to, take the lead, which they held to the end. Dusenberry of the Sams Valley team was high point man with 18 points. Price Phafer of the church team was second with 12. The second strings of the two tems played a game which ended In 18-18 victory for Sams Valley. Mrs. Doty had' none to Portland to visit her daugh ter over the holidays and while there, suffered a paralytic stroke from which she never rallied. Born at Monroe Wisconsin June 8, 1867, she was 68 years of age. The family came to Gold Hill from Ne braska nine years ago. Besides her husband, she leaves six children, Judd. Frank and Nell Doty and Ethel Martin all of Oold Hill: Orpha Hr-witt, Elkton. Oregon and Dollie Millspauch of Portland. Also one slater who resides In South Da kota. The body arrived In Medford this morning accompanied by the daugh ter and services will be conducted by Rev. W. R. Balrd at the Conger chapel at 1:30 Thursday.
