Miss Arlen Jensen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jens Jensen, became the bride of Lawrence Espey. son of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Espey of Grants Pass, at the Sacred Heart Catholic church. They were united In marriage by Rev. P. W. Black In the presence of a small number of friends end relatives. Attending the bride and groom were Miss Margaret Jensen, sister of the bride, and Wilbur Tucker of this city. The bride wore a rust-colored suit with black accessories and a corsage of gArdenlas. A reception at the Jen sen home followed the ceremony. The bride and groom will honeymoon in San Prencleco. returning to south ern Oregon after a week In the south. LaWS'Thornton Rites Event of Tomorrow Announcement Is made of the wed ding tomorrow of Miss Freda Laws, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Garfield Laws of Rogue River, to Enos Thorn ton of Madera, Cal., at the Laws home at 11 o'clock in the morning. Rev. D. Bancroft will perform the ceremony before members of the bride's family. The bride will wear a deep wine afternoon dress with a sliver turban and silver accessories, and will carry an arm bouquet of white chrysan themums. A buffet lunch will fol low the ceremony, and the bride and groom will leave on the evening train for Madera, where they will make their home. Leave Today for Visit In South Mrs. John Wilkinson and her moth er, Mrs. Anna Mlkeche, left this morn ing by motor for San Francisco. They will visit Mrs. Thomas Vtckerstaff, Mrs. Wilkinson's sister, In Mill Valley during their stay. Mrs. Miksche plans to remain In the south for some time, and Mrs. Wilkinson will return early in Janu ary. Ed pell. Johnstons Joint Hosts Yesterday Among the many Med ford folk re ceiving the greetings of their friends at open house Christmas day were Mr. and Mrs. Corbln Edgell and Mr. and Mrs. T. Sister Johnston, who en tertained at the Johnston home on Crater Lake avenue. Approximately one hundred guests called between the hours of 5 and mldnignt. Burrhes Entertain In Honor of Guests. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Burch enter tained at open house yesterday, In viting a number of friends to meet their house-guests. Mr. and Mrs. W. Earl Greenough, of Idaho, who are holiday visitors at the Burch home. About twenty guests called during the afternoon. Miss Stockman and Billimore C. Hagen Wed This Morning Married this morning were Miss Esther Stockman and Billimore C. Hagen, who were united by Rev. E. S. Bartlam at the Bartlam home at 11 o'clock. The quiet ceremony was wit nessed by only the immediate rela tives of the couple. Miss Stock .nan is the,daughter of Mrs. In a Stockman, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Hagen. After the wedding ceremony, guests went to the Hagen home for an in formal reception. Bride and groom left soon after for a ten days honey moon In Los Angeles, going by motor. Miss Jensen was formerly of Tu lare, Cal., but has resided here for the past four years. Mr. Hagen Is well known In Medford, having attended school In this city. Out-of-town guests at the ceremony were Mrs. Ancil Egan 'of Portland, sister of the bride: Mrs. Ellen Hagen. grandmother of the groom, and Harry Hagen. Mr. Hagen's uncle, both of Portland. Oregon State Dance Event of Tomorrow Students and alumni of all col leges, as well as high school stu dents, will be guests of the Oregon State club at the organization's annual holiday dance tomorrow evening at Dreamland hall. The committee In charge has engaged Dick Mote's Campus band from Corvallis. adding to the collegiate atmosphere which will be carried out In the decorations. Kem, Mr. and Mrs, Lewis Ulrlch and Mr. and Mrs. Den Newbury. Xo-Host Party Includes Dancing. A large group of Medford folk arranged a no-host party last even ing, gathering first at the Charles G. Smith home on West Main and continuing to the Town club, where the remainder of the evening was spent in dancing. Dancing Class To Meet Tomorrow Notice Is made of the meeting to morrow evening of the students' dancing class, sponsored by the Mothers' club of the Sacred Heart church. In the parish hall at 7:30. Mary Jane Kent Rites Tomorrow Funeral services for Mary Jane Kent will be conducted from the Perl Funeral , home Friday at 2 p. m. with the Rev. Joseph Knotts officiating. Interment will take place in the Sis kiyou Memorial park. CHRISTMAS CHEER CAUSES TROUBLE FOR TWO Ok Too much "Christmas cheer" was the downfall of two Medford men, Walter C. Degerness, 32, and E. W. Anderson, 60. police disclosed today. Degerness pleaded guilty In Justice court this morning to a charge of driving an auto while Intoxicated Christmas night, and Anderson pleaded guilty In city court on a charge of reckless driving after hav ing been arrested by city police on Christmas Eve after he had rammed three parked cars on West Main street. State police, who arrested Deger neae. stated that in driving from Reddy avenue onto Crater Lake ave nue last night, the man had driven over the sidewalk into the house of John Denlson. Degerness was fined $100 and costs of 84.50, and sentenc ed to serve 30 days in the county Jail. The Jail sentence was suspended upon his promise to pay the fine. City police reported that Anderson struck three parked cars, one belong ing to H. D. Kem. one to Peb Stone, and one to F. A. Southland, damag ing all three. A physician who exam ined Anderson pronounced him In toxicated, police tald. He will be sen tenced Saturday morning by City Judge Allen D. FALLS FRIDAY; Coach BUI Bowerman will present his 1935 Medford high school basket ball team to the public for the first time tomorrow evening in a practice game with the Butte Falls squad, rated one of the strongest "B" squads in the valley, at the Senior high gym on South Oakdale, Bowerman announced today. Leo Sakraida, who has been Jump ing at the pivot post in practice ses sions, is out with a cold, and his place may be filled by VanDyke. reg ular forward.
