Hopkins was in charge of Friday's meeting of the Junior High P.-T. A. Christmas carols sung by the seventh grade puplla and sev eral violin numbers by four students made up the musical program which waa arranged by Mrs. Stephen Nye. Mrs.- Hopkins spoke on the school sytema of Germany, Italy end Russia which the .guests found highly inter esting. After tho ceremony, the - bride and groom will leave on a ten-Cay honeymoon trip to Lea Angeles, re turning to Medford to make their home at 122 South Grape street. A bridge tournament between the ladles and gentlemen haa been ar ranged for tho evening. If won by the ladles, the amount realized from tho tournament will go to their pet charities, with tho situation reversed if tho men are conquerors. Eastern Wedding Of Joubert Hurd Is Recent Event Echo are being received here of the Kew York wedding of Mlaa Martha Waterhouse, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John . Waterhouse of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Joubert Hurd, son of Mrs, E. H. Hurd of thla city, and the late attorney I. H. Hurd. The couple were married In Grace Protestant Episcopal church In the presence of 75 relative and friends. The bride was given In marriage by her father, and had aa her only attendant Miss Margaret Delano. Fred Spuhn waa best man. A re ception and dinner at the Waldorf Astoria followed the ceremony. The couple sailed for London on the Europa, Mr. Hurd being London manager for the Matson Steamship lines. The bride is a graduate of Welles ley college and Mr. Hurd of Stanford. Second half of the topic was the rending of "Accent on Youth," by Mrs. Myron Root, which was classed with the best ten pltiys of last era son. Mlsa Louie Woodruff, music instruc tor at tho school, has directed the young singers, who will present a var ied program Including carols from foreign lands by men's voltes, wom en's voices and combination of the two. Carols have been selected from those of English, French, Spanish, Russian, Slovenian, Roumanian, Hun garian, Moravian and Polish origin.
