Every disabled veteran forced to spend Christmas In a hospital will receive a remembrance from the aux iliary, selected as far as possible to meet his Individual needs and de sires. State organizations of the aux iliary will supply gifts for all ret erana In hospitals In their states, the value of each gift not to exceed one dollar. Presentations will be made personally by members of the aux iliary, wherever possible. To assure the men In the hospitals that their families at home are hav ing a happy Christmas, the auxiliary will conduct a nation-wide contact service. Through this the families of hospitalized veterans will be visit ed by members of auxiliary units In the communities where trrey live, needs for a happy Christmaa provid ed, and their condition reported back to the hospitals. Mlle-Lonr Runway Under the plans now under con sideration a runway 0.500 feet long and 200 feet wide would be paved; a cross-run would be Installed and I paved; two warming-up aprons would be bunt, and a new system of flood aud border lights would' be con structed, Mr. Heath said. Of the 300-foot runway width, the central strip of 100 feet would be concrete while the two outside strips of 50 feet would bo macadam, he explained. The entire field of 288 acres Is to be leveled. Work of Improvement la now being done under a small WPA grant. The gravel runway Is being extended from 3.400 feet to 4,400 feet and border lights are being Installed along the extension, Mr. Heath said.
