Paul Pearoe, Jack Crump and Oeorge Pearoe broke camp at Sterling November 34. They are driving to and fro eah day. Mrs. James Davles left November 34 to spend a few days with her daughter Hazel at Myrtle Creek. They continued to Corvallls to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with Mr. and Mrs. Grant Pllkert and Mary Davles. who Is a student at O. S. 0. Mrs. Thurston, who spent the past two months here with her sister, Mrs. CByrne. left November 25 for her home In Talent. Mrs. O'Byrne has given up her house end Is boarding at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Davlee. Mrs. Tobe Stone and daughter were Sunday visitors at the home of Mrs. James Davles November 24. The afternoon was spent playing pinochle. Harvey Morgan and Louie Brlstow made a business trip to Mtdford Tueaday, delivering a calf at the lat ter' ranch en route. Mr. and Mra. J. O. Mr. Lance had Just returned from Port 'and. where his wife was recently op erated on. She la getting along nice ly and will be able to return home about December 1. Mrs. Frank Elliott returned home with him and will stay there while Mrs. R. E. Cook is in Port land visiting her daughter. Mrs. Lance, and to accompany her home. Live Oak Grange members from here attending the Grange services at the Presbyterian church at Rogue River, Saturday, November 34, wore Mr. and Mrs. Pierre Donga, Mr. and Mrs. George Hutchlna and son Duane, Mra. R. L. Miller and daughter Phyllis. Following services a basket dinner was enjoyed in the community hall. Bob Cook of Gold Hill Is spending sometime at his mine here. He and Ed Koster attended & show In Med ford, November 31. Mr. and Mrs. George Koster were In Grant Pasa November 36, having den tal work done. Word has been received of the birth of a daughter to Mr. and Mra. Chaa. Orr of Portland. Mrs. Orr is the daughter of Paul MoOuat, and for merly resided here. Mrs. R. L. Miller returned Novem ber 30 from a week's trip to National Grange at Sacramento and visiting relatives at Vallejo and San Fran cisco. Watt, Mra, Millie Walker and Otto Furhman. ; Elmore attended the national Grange convention at Sacramento last week. taking the seventh degree. Mrs. Everett Phllllpl and Mr. and Mrs, Wheaton, Medford residents tem porarily located on the Applegate, are spending the Thanksgiving week end with relatives at Salem. Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Klelnhammer went to Medford Monday, where they visited their daughter, MrB. Merrlam Worthing ton of San Francisco. Mrs. Worthing ton la remaining at the home of her cousin, Mrs. Clarence Frye, while convalescing from a thyroidectomy performed at Medford three weeks ago. Mr. and Mrs. Klein- hammer were accompanied by their granddaughter, Miss Dlanne Worth ing ton, who Is remaining with them. Mrs. Fred Straube went to Med ford Tuesday, where she visited her very young nephew, Thomas Clark. Jr., who arrived at the Community hospital November 23. Although the young man will make his home on South Oakdale at Medford, Mrs. Straube Is Inviting him to spend a good share of hla leisure on the Straube ranch here, which may re sult In a new cowboy and hay hand. Guests at the home of Mr. and i Mrs. Aria Throckmorton Sunday In cluded Mr. and Mrs. Ray Anders end family of Central Point and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Tlmmons and son of Med ford. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Luy of Eagle Point also spent Sunday with relatives here. Mlsa Leora Culy left Saturday for southern California, to be a guest of friends during Thanksgiving. Mrs. .Louis Culy Is 111 at her home here with measles. Miss Gilbert of Jacksonville will be the new teacher at Oak Grove school. She will start her classes Monday. The play to have been given at the school has been postponed on account of the prevalence of measles in our district. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Robert had as their guests Thanksgiving Mr. Rob erta father, W. J. Roberta of Med ford; Mrs. Roberts' sister and brother-in-law, Aaron Ayers and family of Jacksonville, and Roy Jones of Cen tral Point. Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Sander spent Thanksgiving with the Central Point Grange where a dinner and supper was served to about twenty-four members of the Grange. The community of Oak Grove dls trtct extends sympathy to the Dew family for the loss of their wife and mother. holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. Dawson. Mrs. Francis Ash spent Thanksgiv ing with her daughter, Mrs. Rena Howe, and family. Trail Antelope ANTELOPE, Nov. 30. (Spl.) The Antelope school board met Monday evening. , Rev. D. D. Randall preached at the Antelope achoolhouse November 16. Cora Bighorn has been 111 with the measles for the prist two weeks. She wsa able to return to school November SB. Mrs. Joe Arena and Marvin Wood are on the sick list at present. A large shipment of turkeys 'was picked and sold from the Antelope district this past week. A good price was received by all. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kubll and son Norman, accompanied by Mrs. Maud Kubll 1 and Chester Llnd, left by motor Monday for Madera, col., tp spend Thanksgiving with Mr. Kub U's sister, Mrs. L. M. Scott. Members of the CCO asp Ike camp at Star ranger station are engaged in equipping a campground on Yale creek, constructing tables, rock fire place, and other essentials. They re racently worked on a campground on Star gulch. Mr, and Mrs. Walter Young of up per Applegate, moved to Jacksonville recently, where Mr. Young has em ployment In a sawmill. L. H. Mcaulre, project superinten dent at Camp Applegate, accompan ied by Mrs. Mcaulre, left this week for Seattle to spend the Thanksgiv ing period with his parents. His pos ition at Camp Applegate la being filled by Dee Mills, foreman. Mr. and Mrs. Lawreuce Glllam of Roseburg arrived Thanksgiving day to be guest of the former's slaters, Mrs. Ben Dawson. Edward Flnley Is a now member of the Uppor Applegate Grange, taking the obligation at the regular moot ing Saturday evening at Beaver oresk. The grangers have been In vited to attend the meeting of Ap plegate Grange December 13, and will take several members for third and fourth degree work there. About 36 members from Jacksonville at tended the Applegate meeting Fri day evening, taking the chairs and presenting a fine program. Charles Oak Grove OAK GROVE, Nov. 29. (Spl.) Community club and Extension unit met tings have been postponed on ac count. of so much sickness, but mem bers hope to resume work next month. The radio parent-education talk will be given December 4. the subject to be "Why don't I get along with my girl or boy?" Next H. E. C. meeting on racial embroidery and candy making Is to be held at the home of Mrs. Fred C. Sander, Decem ber 15. Each member bring needles, thread, yarn and goods to work on. The Neighborhood club met at the home of Mrs. w. H. Roberts last Fri day. There were nine members pres ent. The next meeting Is to be held December 4 at the home of Mrs. Han son on Oak Grove road. Mr. and Mrs. Alton Waldron have as their guest Mrs. H. L. Harrison, Mr. Waldron's sister, of Ashland. Mr. and Mrs. Waldron and family and Mrs. Harrison had Thanksgiving din ner, Mrs. Waldron's mother, Mrs. C. H. Glle, on Kings highway. , Mrs. Lawrence Gober and family spent Thanksgiving with Mrs. Gober's i mother, Mrs. E. P. Green. I TRAIL, Nov. 29. (Spl.) Mrs. New ton and her pupils gave a very Inter esting Thanksgiving program at, the school house November 27. A large number of parents and neighbors were present. Mrs. Newton left for her home near Medford immediately after the close of school to spend Thanksgiving with her family. Wayne Ash was a guest at the home of his mother. Mrs. Francis Ash. November 24. Wayne Is em ployed on the Tiller-Trail road. Mrs. Mary Warner and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ash and family were dinner guests November 24 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Cush man on Trail creek. En route home they called on Mrs. Francis Ash. The many friends of Mrs. Warner are glad to know she Is able to i around to see her friends again after her long illness. Mr. and Mrs. B. Clark are home again after spending the summer and fall on the Umpqua divide. Mrs-. Clark was calling on friends on the highway November 26. C. M. Cushman Is hauling wood for Mr. Horn. Miss Lena Zlmmerley Is spending the Thanksgiving holidays with her mother on Elk creek. Mr. and Mrs. 8. W. Hutchlnsson entertained at dinner Friday evening.
