Stolen Car Recovered A car, stolen Friday evening from Roy Unruh of Phoenix while It was parked on North Fir street In Medford. was recovered about 3:30 a.m. yesterday. It was abandoned on the streets of Ashland. Golden, district educational adviser, at headquarters here. He was on his way to Oakland. Cel. New CCC Classes Eugene C. Gol den, district CCC educational adviser, yesterday was working out plana for new classes in commercial art and automobile mechanics. The classes will be held In the present Infirmary at the fairgrounds as soon as the new Infirmary, now under eonstructlon, Is completed, Mr. Golden said. - Lady Klwanls to Sleet There will be a special business meeting of the Lady K Iranians at the home of Mrs. Ted GeBauer, 1125 East Main street, tomorrow afternoon at 2:30. it was announced yesterday. Tucker of Ashland left the Community hos pital yesterday, recovered from a minor operation performed Friday. Mrs. Fred Wolff of Grants Pass was scheduled to leave for her home to day. She has been confined to the hospital since October 9. The Legislature will be called Into special session soon to authorize construction of a new building to replace tbe statehouse destroyed by fire last April 25. Tbis site Is a combination of the present Capitol grounds, the Willamette Univer sity campus and a part of Willson Park. Here Is a striking view of the old Oregon Capitol as the flames at tacked its classic dome. It Is pro posed that the old Capitol grounds be made a sunken garden and the new building erected on the ad joining Willamette University campus and Willson Park. Bush's Pasture, tamous acreage tract within the city limits of Salem, a portion of which will become home of Willamette University, in the event the Oregon Legislature accepts the present Willamette campus as part of the site of the new Capitol Building. Willamette's offer to surrender its present site Is approved by university trustees and the city of Salem. DESPERATE CONVICTS AT MENARD, III., Oct. 12. (UP) Four desperate convicts Including Basil (the Owl) Banghart, armed themselves with tailor's scissors today and made a daring break for liberty from the southern state Illinois peni tentiary at Chester. They crashed through Iron gates In a seven-ton commandeered truck and led 100 guards In a wild chase which lasted three hours before Banghart was shot down and two of his confederates were recaptured un hurt. The fourth was at large late today. Banghart, serving a 99-year term on conviction of participating In the John (Jake the Barber) Factor kid naping, was a member of the notor ious Roger Touhy gang. Those Banghart chose to aid him were: Cletus Stone, serving a terra for armed robberv: Kstell Franklin, serv ing time for murder, and Earl E.
