rhls Is one of tbe suggested sites for Oregon's new
itaie Capitol. The Legislature will be called Into
special session soon to authorize construction of a
new building to replace tbe statehouse destroyed by
fire last April 25. Tbis site Is a combination of the
present Capitol grounds, the Willamette Univer
sity campus and a part of Willson Park.
Here Is a striking view of the old
Oregon Capitol as the flames at
tacked its classic dome. It Is pro
posed that the old Capitol grounds
be made a sunken garden and the
new building erected on the ad
joining Willamette University
campus and Willson Park.
