(5pl) The Southern Oregon Presbyterla i was held at the Hope Presbyterian I church October 1 and 3. The lirst ! day there was attendance of 15 min ister and on the second day about 45 were at the meeting. The Ladles' Aid had charge ox the entertain ment, serving the meals In the Community hall. Mr. and Mr. Nat Hart, Mrs. Fred Dengler and Mrs. Richard Scott were Medford visitor Wednesday. Seventy-five friend and members of Live Oak and Gold Hill Grange met at the Community hall and enjoyed the evening Monday, Sep tember 30. The evening' program started off with Live Oak: Grange putting on the officers seating drill and the flag drill. An address of welcome was given by Master Ptrry Walt and he also Introduced the speaker, W. A. Johnson, of Grant Pass. Don Elliott, with his banjo. accompanied by Phlllis Miller on the piano, brought much applause from the audience. Mrs. Daniel Powell sang a solo which was rgeat ly enjoyed. Edward Carter gave two tap dance numbers which pi eased everyone a also did the tap dance given by little Charlotte Carter. Two little skits put on by Grange member caused much merriment. The program was followed by game and the Grange ladle servod cake and coffee at close of the evening. This wa booster night and was very succesful meeting. Mrs. A. A. Mathea and Mrs. Min erva Dengler were visitor from Grants Pass to the Fred Dengler home Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. James Whipple were Grants pas shopper Tuesday after noon. The barn belonging to Tom and Day Shuster, of Beeson Lane, was completely destroy ed by fire Saturday. About 30 tons of hay was burned, and farm equipment also. The fire was started by hot ashes from a pipe, but when It was discov ered, such headway had been made, that nothing could be saved. The fire spread to the Anderson property, but was brought under control by the as sistance of the CCC. The Ashland chemical engine waa called. There waa a small amount of Insurance. K.
