Kabele of the Lutheran church. Rev, E. S. Bartlam, rector of St. Mark's Episcopal church, was chosen as the new vice-president to succeed Rev. Joseph Knotts of the Methodist Episcopal church, who was this year elected to serve as secretary and treasurer In place of Capt. G. R. Dun ham of the Salvation Army, retiring officer. A special meeting of the associa tion was called last Wednesday at the Christian church to meet with Rev. Roy B, Guild of New York, as sociate secretary of the Federal Coun cil of Churches, and Rev. W. L. Van Nuys of Portland, acting secretary of the Oregon Council of Churches. The conference centered about the activities which Protestant churches can do better co-operatively than in dividually. One of these actlvieles includes religious services In the CCC camps. The three army chaplains, Capaln Preston and Lieutenants Pond and Anderson, were present. A noon lunfcheon was served at the Jackson hotel honoring Dr. and Mrs. Guild. The W. C. T. U. The W. C. T. U. met Thursday afternoon with Mrs. S. C. Godlove. 345 North Bartlett street, with the president, Mrs. E. A. Oldenburg, pre siding. Mrs. Eva McNary had charge of the devotional period, bringing many helpful messages.
