Wednesday was spent In San Fran cisco. The trip acrow the bay by ferry was Interesting, particularly as the ferry crosses directly under the new Oakland - San Francisco bay bridge, now under construction. This bridge Is eight miles in length, la the largest In the world, and will be open for traffic October, 1936. At the ferry boat terminal we were met by the head man of the Standard OH comuanv of California, who nut ' im on CI rev line buses for a sightsee ing tour. The first thing visited was the approach to the new bay bridge. The next item of Interest was the Golden Gate bridge. Nobody Is al lowed to go down to where the actual work Is going on, but we were prlv lledged characters and went down and watched some of the construction work. Tills bridge when completed will have the longest single span in the world. At Sutra's baths the scouts had the privilege of going In swimming in the largest Indoor swimming pool.
